The local authority is running a non performing cattle project on its farm but a small-scale due financial constraint, lack of expertise and relevant infrastructure. .

Umzingwane-Esigodini Sewer Treatment Plant Upgrade
Esigodini Growth Point is situated in Umzingwane District and is currently composed of three high density ,three medium density and one low density suburb. The existing sewage stabilisation ponds are located in the old high density of Habane suburb and its design was meant to only accommodate the township at that time with 541 households and two schools.There has been a great increase in population and housing infrastructure which has exerted great pressure on the current ponds. There is to have 1500 households connected to a proper treatment plant

Umzingwane District Tourism Hub Development
The district has numerous and diverse tourism attractions - both tangible and intangible that either lie untapped or are grossly underutilised. Communities in the areas where these sites exist are not well-up economically and have strained sources of livelihoods as they depend mainly on subsistence agriculture with only a few engaged in market gardening. The agricultural land is limited as the terrain is mountainous forcing those doing agriculture to strain the environment further by engaging in streambank

Lack of mineral processing plants in the district as result miners are not realising full benefit on their produce. To add on there are vast of minerals and mining opportunities that remain untapped with in the district..

Failure by the local authority to safely dispose of its solid and liquid waste as a result council has accumulated environmental penalties. Environmental population is more pronounced in Esigodini Townboard area
